Prof. Veronica Chiang

Dr Chiang is a Professor in the Department of Neurological Surgery at the Yale University School of Medicine. She is director of the Yale New Haven Hospital Gamma Knife Center and Chief of the Radiosurgery Fellowship program. Professor Chiang’s clinical practice primarily involves the treatment of patients with brain metastases and management of complications following radiosurgery, using standard craniotomy, radiosurgery and minimally invasive neurosurgical techniques such as laser ablation. Her research interests include studying mechanisms for brain metastasis resistance to therapy as well as outcomes following evolving multidisciplinary paradigms for management of brain metastases.
A/Prof. Joshua Palmer

Dr. Joshua Palmer is a radiation oncologist specializing in the treatment of CNS malignancies, including primary and secondary brain tumors and cancers of the spine. In addition, he is an Associate Professor at The Ohio State University, and serves as the pediatric malignancy disease site leader. Dr Palmer’s research focuses on translational oncology, biomarker discovery, and the interaction of diet on cancer therapy. A committed physician-scientist, he holds grant for grants for pediatric cancer and glioblastoma, and serves as a national co-PI on three brain metastasis trials in the NRG Oncology and ALLIANCE for Clinical Trials groups, as well as on several studies through the Children’s Oncology Group.
Dr. Palmer is also a member of the International Guideline Harmonization Group for neurocognitive problems and colorectal cancer, and a committee member on the National Comprehensive Cancer Network’s pediatric CNS tumors national guidelines.

Ms Erin Johns

PRINCESS ALEXANDRA HOSPITAL
Erin Johns is an experienced Radiation Therapist at Radiation Oncology Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane. She is currently in the final stages of her PhD at the Queensland University of Technology investigating predictive modelling for low dose wash in stereotactic radiotherapy for singular brain metastases. Erin has received widespread acknowledgement for her work in this area, including winning $100 000 in highly competitive PA Foundation grant funding. She has also presented extensively in the area of optimal low dose wash dosimetry in brain radiotherapy, being awarded the best presentation and people’s choice award at the PAH Symposium Research Excellence Awards. Erin is striving to make a positive impact on brain cancer patients, streamlining dosimetry work practices and improving quality of life.
Dr Benjamin Jonker

Dr Benjamin Jonker is a Sydney based neurosurgeon with expertise in surgery and stereotactic radiosurgery. He trained in functional neurosurgery in Calgary, Canada and then in stereotactic radiosurgery at UCLA Medical Center Los Angeles with Professor Tony De Salles.
His practice encompasses both surgery and focused radiation for brain tumours including a large volume of pituitary and skull base surgery. The other facet of his practice is functional neurosurgery including treatment of trigeminal neuralgia as well as movement disorder procedures such as deep brain stimulation and MRI guided focused ultrasound.
He is a board member of the World Society of Stereotactic and Functional Neurosurgery and also currently serves as president of the ANZ Skull Base Society.


Dr Jennifer Gillespie

Dr Jennifer Gillespie is a Radiologist at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, Brisbane and Wesley Medical Imaging. She has a special interest in Head and Neck and Skull Base imaging.
Jen is heavily involved in teaching and is the Network Training Director for the RBWH. She is a member of the Head and Neck Cancer, Pituitary and Skull Base MDTs at the RBWH. She is the current Head and Neck representative for the Australian and New Zealand Society of Neuroradiology and is their incoming Secretary General.
A/Prof Hao-Wen Sim

Associate Professor Hao-Wen Sim is a medical oncologist based in Sydney, Australia specialising in neuro-oncology. He is affiliated with The Kinghorn Cancer Centre, Chris O'Brien Lifehouse, the NHMRC Clinical Trials Centre and the Garvan Institute of Medical Research. His work focuses on improving treatment approaches and clinical trial methodology for brain cancers.
A/Prof Sim completed a neuro-oncology fellowship at The Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, Toronto and holds a Master of Biostatistics from The University of Sydney, receiving the Biostatistics Collaboration of Australia Star Graduate Award, the Judy Simpson Biostatistics Scholarship, the Les Irwig General Epidemiology Award and the Australasian Epidemiological Association Top Student Prize. He serves as Clinical Lead for the Cooperative Trials Group for Neuro-Oncology (COGNO), Deputy Chair of the COGNO Scientific Advisory Committee, and chairs the Neuro-Oncology Multidisciplinary Team Meeting at The Kinghorn Cancer Centre.


A/Prof James King

A/Prof James King is an Australian trained Neurosurgeon, with international fellowship qualifications from two postgraduate years spent at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, and the Brigham and Woman's Hospital in Boston. He has public hospital appointments at Royal Melbourne Hospital and the Royal Children's Hospital.
Dr King is Deputy Director in Neurosurgery at Royal Melbourne Hospital and the Head of Pituitary Surgery. His primary interest is disease of the pituitary gland. He is an Associate Professor in the Department of Surgery at The University of Melbourne, a Neurosurgical advisor for the Australian Pituitary Foundation, and has over 80 peer reviewed publications, primarily in pituitary disease.
Dr John Shakeshaft

ICON CANCER CENTRE, GOLD COAST UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL
John Shakeshaft is lead physicist at ICON Cancer Centre on the Gold Coast, Australia. He has worked in various departments across the UK and Australia. He is a past chair of the ACPSEM Radiation Oncology Specialty Group. As part of this work, he co-authored the recently-published ACPSEM position paper on pre treatment patient specific plan checks and quality assurance in radiation oncology. He has recently lead a working group on behalf of TROG to draw up technical guidelines for SRS clinical trials.


Dr Joe Sia

PETER MACCALLUM CANCER CENTRE
Dr Joe Sia is a Radiation Oncologist in the Parkville Neuro-Oncology Unit of the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre and Royal Melbourne Hospital, and a Senior Clinical Research Fellow in the Brain Cancer Research Laboratory at WEHI. Joe leads the Neuro-Oncology Translational Radiobiology Research Programme, a collaboration between Peter Mac and WEHI. He did his medical training in New Zealand and radiation oncology training in Australia and holds a laboratory-based PhD in tumour immunology from the University of Melbourne.
